CEDEXIS Description

Cedexis is a provider of intelligent DNS and traffic management services. The company has offices in France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The founders, former Akamai employees, started the company in 2009 with the goal to optimise webperformance accross content delivery networks (CDNs) and clouds for companies that are looking for 100% availability of their services.

Cedexis collects data via their Radar product. Website owners place a javascript tag on their website and help in the collection of performance data and in return, the website owners get access to the data. Cedexis then uses the data in their intelligent decision making platform Openmix. The Openmix platform allows customers to add the CNAMEs they receive from multiple CDN providers, select the corresponding CDN and then based on the performance data, the fastest CDN’s CNAME will be returned to the end-user making the DNS request. The latest addition to their product portfolio is called Impact, a tool to make the performance impact on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) clear.

Note that Cedexis does not include a content delivery network in its offering. Customers interested in their services will need to acquire multiple CDNs elsewhere in order to build a multi-CDN solution.
